The legend says when a child is born there is an invisible red thread that connects him or her to the people who are destined to be part of his or her life. While we cannot see the thread, over time its effects are seen as people become connected and their lives interwoven.
We were connected to Logan as soon as we saw his picture on the Holt International website. We were smitten with his beautiful dark eyes, button nose and his small, but charming smile.
The usual process is to send in an application, wait for it to be approved, complete a home study and dossier and then wait for a referral from the agency.
he already had our hearts before we even started the process.
His special needs were briefly outlined in his online summary.
I'd by lying if I said that we didn't hesitate for a moment.
We had no idea what type of medical care he would need, what type of surgeries would be involved.
But we only hesitated for a moment...

And now, more than six months later, we have a son half way around the world!

This is awesome! Amy and I were really excited to hear that you were adopting. Now we can't wait to meet Logan when we come out to visit and to introduce him to Raen. Will Logan be home at Christmas time?
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark! We will definitely have Logan home for Christmas. We are hoping to travel to China by June, God willing. We're so excited for Logan to meet his baby cousin too!
