Our son
is waiting for us in Beijing…
This is
a picture of Logan’s current home, the Beijing Children’s Welfare Institute…
This is
where he spends his days, unaware that his forever family is eagerly awaiting
the end of this journey; wanting so much for the process to be finished and for
Logan to be in our arms.
I often
wonder how he spends his days.
Who is
his favorite playmate?
Does he
have a favorite toy?
Who was
there when he rolled over for the first time,
Or
began to crawl,
Or when
he took his first step?
Did
they cheer him on? Clap for him or swing
him round and round at the delight of reaching such milestones?
We’ve
been given some insight into his daily life.
We know
his daily routine, his current measurements and recent developmental
progress. We know that he likes building
blocks and that he’s a favorite of his caregivers; but not much more.
We know
that he doesn’t leave the orphanage, it’s his only world for now. But not
for long...
He
hasn’t been told that he now has a mommy and daddy. They’ll tell him once our dossier is in
China, they’ll begin preparing him for the transition.
For
now, we’re confident that he’s being well cared for and the orphanage he’s in
is one of the best in China. From the
pictures it looks clean and well stocked with fun toys and activities to keep
our little guy busy!
We’re
thankful for the caregivers that tend to him each day and blessed to know that
the Lord is in constant watch over him…
